Crossing the ridge to Snow Lake

This view makes the climb finally worthwhile. On the other side of the ridge, Snow Lake feeds the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River. The drop looks intimidating, but it is not so bad. Be careful not to step on the many squirrels, picas, and boy scouts that are likely to be present in numbers on this section of the trail. Also, as busy crowds push through, be careful not to let them step on you. Fortunately, as you pass that first rocky point along the east shore, crowds decrease dramatically.
