"Frosty Ridge" Trail

This view looks back along Icicle Ridge to the stony peak where the previous shot was taken. After the trail descends from there along the ridge, it drops toward a small creek. This is a welcome location to filter some fresh drinking water, but it is also a treacherous navigation trap.

The "obvious trail" continues across the little creek and starts to drop into the valley of one of the tributary creeks supplying Wildhorse Creek. There might be a pleasant camp down there — but I knew that we did not want to go there. We climbed above the creek bed about 100 yards uphill and relocated the ridge trail, and from there continued on course.
