The hard climb is over — the climbing continues

The Crest Trail heads upward and to the southwest, passing various small ponds and minor creeks. A set of switchbacks and then a westward sweep, passing behind a marshy meadow, take you to more switchbacks up a rocky slope. These switchbacks reach the rounded ridge top at 2.8 miles. The hard work is over. In the next 2 miles, there will be only 200 feet elevation loss and 300 feet elevation gain.
