Down the big hill... a little easier.

Being "downhill all the way" makes a big difference. The return trip goes quickly, even though we made no attempt to hurry. We stopped for a short rest break when we were once again back at the "gravel mound." The rock chips that that appear a greenish-gray are serpentine — flat flakes with a glassy greenish luster. I call them "dragon scales." Plenty of time to find the prettiest ones. Our camp is located straight back behind this mound.
