The mandatory group pix

I'm not generally a fan of the "everybody stand together and say cheese" kind of pictures. B-o-o-o-oring! Yet, this was one of my favorite pictures from the trip, because of the way it "breaks all the rules." Seth set up this shot "on the timer." Remember those photography basics? Concentrate on the subject. Rule of thirds. Slightly off-center makes a better composition. Well, there is a time and place to ignore the conventional wisdom, and here is an example. This captures the feeling of a very small group isolated in a very big place; following the usual "rules" would have missed the point.
