Peggy's Pond Trail — Deep Lake

Going approximately 1.6 miles along the ridge, we reached the Crest Trail at Cathedral Pass. After following this slightly downhill on the west side of the ridge for 0.1 miles, we reached the junction of the Peggy's Pond trail. This side trail skirts the west side of Cathedral Rock: narrow, steep in places, rough everywhere, and more exposed than the other trails in the area. People who are nervous about the possibilities of falling and bouncing merrily for a few hundred feet down boulder slopes are best advised to go elsewhere!

Below the trail, there are a couple of clear views down to Deep Lake, which is probably the second most popular destination in the local area. There are plenty of camps in the meadows visible at the far left side.
