One of the two most prominent of the relics remaining from the mining days is this old steam-driven winch. It was knocked off of its original platform, spun around, and tipped over on its back — as originally operated, the spools of steel cable would have pointed downhill in roughly the direction that the steam tank does today. Avoid those cables, they will send a spray of springy, rusting needles into your flesh at the first opportunity, which couldn't be good.
