The mini-cliffs
We had a special destination in mind... the middle of nowhere. Leaving the trail at the northernmost point — or maybe more correctly, continuing along the original trail that the Forest Service chose to stop maintaining — we eventually broke out of the densest brush, passed this small rocky cliff face, and re-entered forest.
